Since the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), many doors are opening for persons with disabilities to live independently, with full community access. Independent Living is based on the philosophy that a person with a disability should be in control of the services that allow him/her to live independently.

Sometimes consumers need assistance to learn and/or improve Independent Living Skills to achieve greater independence.
